Josephine M. Paone

Josephine M. Paone, 91, of Lakeside, OH, and formerly of Sandusky, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Otterbein Northshore Retirement Community, Lakeside. She was born in Lewis Run, PA on February 21, 1915, a daughter of Antonio & Vincenza (Zazzarini) Paone. Jo was a 1931 graduate of Sandusky High School, and was a long time active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sandusky. She was a clerk for many years for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Known for her concern and care for others, Jo assisted her friends by running errands and driving them to appointments. She also loved to travel, having visited many locations in the U.S. Jo also traveled to Italy several times, where she visited relatives. Jo is survived by her brother, Albert Paone, of Fayetteville, TN; 16 nieces & nephews, 27 great-nieces & nephews, and 1 great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carmen and Frederick Paone; and sisters, Helen Wolff, Marge Cramer, and Mary Skrinak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Marblehead, where friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Saturday. Rev. James Brown will officiate, and interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
