Josephine (Mineo) Feczer, 89 years old passed away peacefully at her home on Catawba Island with family by her side on May 17, 2023. She had courageously battled a number of serious health issues over the last six months and she now gets to rest and rejoin her husband and many of her loved ones in God’s kingdom.
She was born in New Jersey on April 30, 1934 to Isadore and Caroline Mineo who proceeded her in death, as have her brother, Frank Mineo, and her sister, Vivian Anderson. She married her best friend, William Feczer, on September 10, 1955 and remained happily married for 54 years before Bill passed away in 2009. Surviving are her son, Bill Jr. (Rita), and daughter, Diane Belden (David), her 8 grandchildren, Brian Belden (Heather), Kevin Belden, Tim Belden, Mindy Koch (Eric), Matthew Feczer (Ashley), Rebecca Barok (Alex), Stephen Feczer, Amy Feczer, and her 10 great-grandchildren, Meghan, Lizzie, Isabella, Gabbi, Stella, Lydia, Rory, Sully, Christian, and Kaylyn.
Mama Jo, as she’s been lovingly known by many of her neighbors and friends, was an amazing cook. Her meatballs and spaghetti sauce are legendary along with many other delicious dishes and desserts. She loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family and friends. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, she loved crafting and cheering for her favorite sports teams, especially Notre Dame football.
In addition to raising her family she worked as a secretary in New Jersey before relocating to Catawba Island with her family in 1972 where she was employed by McConnell Realty for many years.
Josephine is a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Visiting Hours will be at 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, May 22, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10:00 am with a rite of Christian Burial to follow at Catawba Island Cemetery.
