John R. Hornyak, 72, of Port Clinton, OH, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 in Cottage Cove at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born in Toledo, OH on May 14, 1934, a son of the late Stephan & Helen (Czismar) Hornyak. John was an employee of Libbey-Owens-Ford, retiring after 36 years. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hornyak was a 29 year member of Moose Lodge #1610, Port Clinton, and the Maumee Eagles. He was also a member of the REAC Club. Surviving is his wife, the former Gaydelle Garnsey, who he married on May 25, 1955; his daughter, Darla Hornyak, Maumee, OH; sons, Rick (Dawn) Hornyak, Toledo, OH, and Todd (Lisa) Hornyak, Genoa, OH; grandchildren, Casey, Cory, and Michael; and his brother, Ernest Hornyak, Toledo. There will be no services or visitation. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Magruder Hospital for their kindness and support. Memorial contributions may be made to Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, or Cottage Cove at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH.
