John P. Rollheiser

John P. Rollheiser, 87, of Oak Harbor, OH died suddenly at his home, Wednesday, August 12, 2009. John was born May 10, 1922 in Sterling, CO to the late Jacob and Katherine (Komlofski) Rollheiser. On March 15, 1941 he married the former Betty R. Halstead who preceded him in death May 19, 2007. John worked over 20 years at Erie Ordinance Depot, before retiring in 1984 from Standard Products both in Port Clinton, OH. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and watching football, baseball, and golf, especially the Indians and Browns. Survivors include his sons: Joseph (Shelia) Rollheiser, James (Cynthia) Rollheiser, Jacob (friend Jo) Rollheiser, all of Graytown, OH, Jeffery (friend Carla) Rollheiser of Port Clinton, Jerry (friend Wendy) Rollheiser of Oak Harbor; daughter Joan (James) Felder of Oak Harbor; brothers: Pete Rollheiser of North Carolina; sisters: Anna Kaiser and Rose (Melvin) Jensen both of Oak Harbor; 15 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a son John Rollheiser Jr.; brothers: Joseph and Jacob Rollheiser; sisters Millie Layman, Mary Beekman, and Katherine Fisher. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. A Parish Wake Service will begin at 8pm Friday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:30am with the Rev. David L. Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Boniface Catholic School. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosserfuneralhome.com.
