John "Jack" U. Bergman

John "Jack" U. Bergman, 80, of Sandusky, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on January 5, 1938 in Port Clinton, a son of the late Ulmont and Mary (Boeshart) Bergman. He was a 1956 graduate of Port Clinton High School. John worked at the Sandusky Foundry as a draftsman engineer until his retirement in 2000. Due to his love of gadgets and reading Popular Mechanics, he enjoyed taking things apart and putting things back together. He also enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and fishing. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers fan. He also enjoyed taking pictures and videos. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Julie (Dean) Henry, Fremont, Ohio, Joan Jones, Maumee, Ohio, and Jennifer (Mark) Zaremba, Sheffield Lake, Ohio; son, John (Shelly) Bergman, Tiffin, Ohio; grandchildren, Ernie (Jessica) Bergman, Brittany (Andrew) Miller, Billy Wynn, Preston (Brittany) Wielinski, John Michael (Shelbie) Bergman, Zachery Wielinski, Seth Bergman, Tyler OMalley, Joshua Bergman, Parker Jones; great-grandchildren, Aiden Miller, Luke Miller, Izzy Bergman; and step-granddaughter, Addy Miller; brother, Jim Bergman, Port Clinton and sister, Jeanne Schroeder, Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Janie Bergman; former wife, Cynthia "Sue" Ball; and sister, Judy Davidson. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 1pm until a Memorial Service at 3pm with Reverend Jacob Yaeger officiating.
