John J. “Eli” Marysz, Sr., 86 of Marblehead, OH, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. He was born August 19, 1919 in Windsor Locks, CT, the son of John and Eva (Teuris) Marysz. He was retired from the Standard Products Company, Port Clinton. He had built several houses throughout the years in the area. He loved to fish and to build things around the house. He was a member of the Danbury Senior Center and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife Stella (Lipka) Marysz whom he married on August 26, 1944; sons Joseph Marysz of Port Clinton, John J. (Deborah) Marysz, Jr. of Granger, Indiana; daughters Mary Ann (Jim) St. Benore of Toledo, Sally Phillips of Lakeside and Judith Cole of Marietta; Twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael and sister Anna. The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm Sunday at the Neidecker-LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where scripture services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, where the body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
