John J. Dougherty, 60, of Norwalk and formerly of Port Clinton, OH died Monday, October 26, 2015 at his home. He was born September 14, 1955 in Gary, IN the son of T. Donald and Ellen Marie (Carroll) Dougherty. John served his country for six years in the United States Marine Corps. He previously worked as a time keeper for United Engineers and Constructors, Inc. at the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station, Standard Products in Port Clinton, Ohio and as a call representative for Periodical Publications in Sandusky, Ohio. In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling and watching professional football and auto racing. Surviving are his children: Jessica Dougherty of Norwalk, Taylor Dougherty of Sandusky, Amber Dougherty of Walbridge, Summer Franklin of Pennsylvania, Kandie Holton of Michigan; grandchildren: Shelbie Holton, Madison Holton, Carlie Holton, Mollie Holton, Elijah Holton, Lillie Schimmel, Dylan Holmer, Brandi Franklin, Oliver Franklin; father: T. Donald Dougherty of Port Clinton; brother: Matthew J. Dougherty of Dallas, TX. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where prayer services will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 10:30 am Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, OH 44870.
