John H. Chamberlin, 71, of Mount Dora, Florida, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born on September 23, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, the son of the late John Adams and Orpha (Demlow) Chamberlin. He graduated from Cooley High School in Michigan in 1955, then went to the Lawrence Institute of Technology where he graduated in June 1960. In the spring of 1960 he started his working career with General Motors as an International Marketing Manager and worked in Michigan, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Sandusky, and then back to Michigan where he retired in 1993. After his retirement, he worked as a consultant for Butcher Industries in Michigan for one year. He married Monica Monok on February 25, 1993 and she survives. John was a member of the Mount Dora Country Club and the Eustis, Florida Elks Lodge #1578. His hobbies included golfing as he was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife: Monica; daughter: Jennifer (Mike) Prosser, Catawba Island; sons: John (Stephanie) Chamberlin, Thornton, CO and Matthew (Carole) Chamberlin, Cincinnati, OH; 8 grandchildren; and first wife: Edwina (Belto) who is the mother of his children. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Carol. Friends are invited to call at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH on Friday, October 10, 2008, from 7-8 PM where services will be held at 8:00 PM with Reverend Daniel J. Ring, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, officiating. Additional visitation will be held following the service until 9:00 PM.
