John E. "Jack" Voight

John E. "Jack" Voight, 78, of Port Clinton, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home. He was born September 20, 1937 in Sandusky, OH the son of Edward and Freida (Rhoda) Voight. He married Mary Lou O'Nan on May 1, 1976 and she survives. Jack graduated from Sandusky High School and attended Ohio University. He was a United States Army Veteran serving as a parachutist in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton and the Port Clinton American Legion Post. He enjoyed working in his yard especially growing flowers. The most important thing in his life was his family. Surviving are his wife: Mary Lou; sons: Eric John (Jennifer) Voight of Lancaster, OH, Joseph Edward (Marla) Voight of Clarksville, TN, Greg Alan (Debbie) Voight of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren: John, Alex, Sarah, Spencer, Josh, Ryan, Chris, Katie and Simon; brother: Tom (Teri) Voight of Westerville, OH; sister: Betty (Neil) Drobney of Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am Monday, January 18, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 10:30. Additional visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH.
