John Danchisen, Jr.

John Danchisen, Jr., 80, of Marblehead, died Thursday July 2, 2009 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born May 19, 1929 in Marblehead, the son of John and Anna (Sennich) Danchisen, Sr. John was a meat cutter by trade being employed at the East End Meat Market and later Mutach's Market, both of Marblehead. He was a social member of the VFW Post 7572 of Marblehead. Surviving are his daughters Cheryl (Don) Wahl of Sandusky and Jacquelyn (Patrick Ferris) Danchisen of Toledo; Son John Allan Danchisen of Australia; grandchildren Holly Canino, Kevin Canino, Christopher Danchisen, Nathan Danchisen, Shannon Danchisen, Blake Danchisen and Mitchell Ferris; several great grandchildren; his former wife Rose Danchisen of Port Clinton; and a brother Peter Danchisen of North Olmsted. He was preceded in death by his parents, half sisters Ella Mazur and Anna Gomscak; half brothers Alex, Michael, George, Steve, Joseph, Andrew, Metro and John Mazur. At his request, no visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 802 Barclay Street, Marblehead. The Rev. Timothy Ferris will officiate. Following the funeral services, family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at the VFW Post 7572 in Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
