John C. Butchko

John C. “Charlie” Butchko, 94, of Lakeside, Ohio, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at Otterbein-Northshore Retirement Community, Lakeside. He was born on September 16, 1911, a son of the late Peter & Anna (Yuhasz) Butchko, Sr. During his working years, he was employed in Toledo, Cleveland, and Lakeside. On October 17, 1953, he married the former Mary Engler, and she survives. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law: Julia Coleman, of Oak Harbor; and Florence Engler, of Port Clinton; brother-in-law: George Snider, of Catawba Island; nieces and nephews: Joan Kristenak Hudak, James Kastro (Michelle), Kay Kastro Williams, Lynne Canter Wittman (Jim), Rev. John Butchko, Thomas Butchko, Peter “Hank” Butchko (Darlene), Gary Engler (Joanne), Louis Engler (Laura), Rev. Dennis Engler (LaDonna), Donna Coleman Gregg (Robert); many great & great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Peter and George “Gussie” Butchko; sisters: Anne, Helen, Mag and Mary. Friends may call Monday, May 1, 2006 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside EMS, Marblehead EMS, or Stein Hospice.
