John A. Johnson, Sr.

John A. Johnson, Sr, 58, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born January 24, 1963 in Port Clinton, OH the son of William J. and Linda J. (Hunter) Johnson, Sr. John graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1981 and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal from 1983-1989. John was a longhaul truck driver. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and tinkering with anything. He loved going fast, most recently on a boat and he also enjoyed playing his guitar and loved Rock and Roll music with a passion. Surviving are his children: Samantha (Knickalaus) Lippert of Jacksonville, FL., John A. Johnson, Jr. also known as Jasmin of Tampa, FL.; Frank Johnson of Fremont; fiancé Vicky Jessee of Oak Harbor; mother: Linda Johnson of Oak Harbor; siblings: Michael L. Johnson of Oak Harbor, William J. Johnson, Jr. of Clyde, Timothy L. (Rachel) Johnson of Oak Harbor, Juanita K. Johnson of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his father: William J. Johnson, Sr. and sister-in-law: Kathy Gates Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton with military honors. Rev. Deron Fourman will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
