Joe Ross

Brian Joseph “Joe” “Pappy” Ross, 80 of Gibsonburg, OH died Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Toledo Hospital following a brief illness. He was born August 12, 1944 in Dayton, OH to the late Gilbert and Dora (Skelly) Ross. On September 19, 1964 he married the former Diana Zimmerman, and she survives. Joe was a retired truck driver, working for Roadway, Pinnacle, Toby G. Ross Company, and Penske. He was a life long member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #712, Fremont and Wadsworth Eagles Aerie 2117.

Joe loved to hang out around the campfire, having BBQs with his friends and family, attending car shows, and celebrating holidays with all the delicious foods. He also enjoyed going to the Eagle’s Club to see his friends and have a “pork chop and gravy”.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Diana, of Gibsonburg, OH; children: Randy Ross of Marion, OH, Dawn (James) Wilburn of Elmore, OH, and Toby (Tammy) Ross of Pemberville, OH; grandchildren: Shane Wilson, Brandon (Ashley) Wilburn, Travis (Angie) Ross, Erika (Corey) Kaylor, Kristie Wilburn, Brian Ross, Tommy (Kristilyn) Ross, Stephanie (Samuel) Cromer, Molly Wilburn, and Chase Ross; great-grandchildren: Tori, Shane, Kelsey, Emily, James, Lane, Amber, Colt, Case Lacie, Slade, Paislee, Gage, Xaine, Wesley, Sawyer, Coby, Sterling, Harmony, Judah, Reign, and Josiah; sister Jonelle; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son Brian P., brothers Denny and Dave Ross, sister Donna, and grandchildren Amber Ross and Corey Wilburn.

A Celebration of Life will be held February 16, 2025 from 2-6pm at Fraternal Order of Eagles #712, 2570 W. State Street, Fremont, OH 43420, where the family asks that you wear anything “Rolling Stones” in celebration of his memory.
