Joanne M. Sorg

Joanne M. Sorg, 77, of Oak Harbor died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, OH following an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1931 in Benton Twp., OH to the late Paul and Olga (Kontak) Beshalske. On September 23, 1951 she married William Sorg and he survives. Joanne was a homemaker a majority of her life but also worked at PermaGlass in Genoa, Riverview Home in Oak Harbor and Kmart in Fremont. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor where she participated in the Guild. She enjoyed watching Cleveland basketball and football. Surviving is her husband of 57 years William E. of Oak Harbor, daughters: Susan Sorg, of Cleveland, OH and Janice (Bob) Cunningham, of Oak Harbor; brother Donald (Jeannette) Beshalske of Graytown, OH; sisters: Ruth Slovak of Oregon, OH, and Betty (Jake) Brown of Elliston, OH; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Sorg, brothers: James and William Beshalske. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Services will begin at 11am Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Burial will be in Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor at a later date.
