Joan J. Laney

Joan J. Laney, 76, of Genoa, OH, and formerly of Elmore, OH, died suddenly Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at her residence. She was born December 2, 1929 in Elmore to the late Harmon and Donelda (Schwable) Rozine. Joan was a 1947 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. On April 13, 1948 she married Albert Glenn Laney who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1998. Joan was a sales representative for the Suburban Press, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa. A very talented artist, Joan enjoyed both painting and poetry. She loved to garden, go antiquing, and looked forward to the Elmore Senior Citizens luncheon held at Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include her 4 daughters: Linda (Mark) Weber of Swanton, OH, Lou Ann (Gilbert) Gabayan of Las Cruces, NM, Lisa (Bob) Mason of Vickery, OH, and Lesley (Jeff) Willmeth of Genoa, OH. 5 Grandchildren, Aaron Weber, Marissa Petrovish, Benjamin, Christopher, and Matthew Willmeth. Friends may call from 2-8pm Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elmore, OH.
