Joan Helen Duhamel, 88, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was born Feb. 7, 1933 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Naork) Turnek. Joan retired from Ida Rupp Public Library where she was a secretary. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, OH. Surviving are her daughter: Julie (Mike) Wittman of Port Clinton; sons: Robert “Bobby” (Dawn) Duhamel of Colorado, Christopher “Riley” Duhamel of Chicago; grandchildren: Charles Hursey, Jamie Wittman, Reilly Wittman, Paris (Scott) Baxter, Monet Duhamel, Cecelia Duhamel, Christian Duhamel, Alex Duhamel, Allison Duhamel; great-granddaughter: Maggie Baxter; sister: Jean Eubanks. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Riley Duhamel; infant son: Eric Duhamel; brother Ralph “Corky” Turnek; sisters: Frances Gruden, Veronica “Sis” Black and Patty Kuhlman. Joan graciously donated her body to the University of Toledo Medical Center to help educate future health care professionals. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH 43452 or Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
