Jerry C. Higgins

Jerry C. Higgins, 61, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on December 11, 1952 in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph Clair and Mary Lou (Boyer) Higgins. On February 25, 1985 he married Mary Hagerty and she survives. Jerry was the owner/operator of McCullough Construction in Port Clinton until he sold the business in 2004 and retired. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. He was an outdoorsman with a passion for duck and deer hunting, fishing, bird watching, and gardening. During his working years, Jerry was happiest when playing in the mud on heavy machinery aka playing with Tonka toys. Survivors include his wife: Mary; children: Gary Lee Higgins, Port Clinton; Sarah (Eric) Klotz, Bowling Green, Ohio; Joseph Clair (Emma) Higgins, Bowling Green, Ohio; Katie (Brandon Wieber) Higgins, Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Lee J, Tatum, Ethan, and Ryan; sister: MaryAnn McCullough, Florida; and brother: Tom Higgins, Port Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 5pm until services at 7pm.
