Jeffrey M. Wendt

Jeffrey M. Wendt, 48, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home. He was born in Port Clinton, OH on August 4, 1967, the son of Robert L. & Donna M. (Schoch) Wendt. Jeff was a 1986 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. A devoted community servant, Jeff was a firefighter for Portage Fire District, Oak Harbor for many years. He was also formerly an EMT for Mid-County Emergency Medical Service, Oak Harbor. Jeff's career was in law enforcement and he served as a police officer for the Villages of Elmore, Marblehead, Milan, and Rocky Ridge. While at Rocky Ridge, he started a block watch program in the village. Recently, Jeff has been an employee of Life Star Ambulance for Mercy Health Care Systems in Toledo, and Auto Zone in Port Clinton. Jeff is survived by his mother and stepfather, Donna and Larry Elliott of Oak Harbor; and his sons, Zachary and Trevor Wendt of Clyde, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wendt. The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
