Jeanne E. Huskey

Jeanne E. Huskey, 77, of Port Clinton, OH died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. She was born October 15, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH the daughter of Reuben and Wilma (Apling) Fillmore. She married Ronald Huskey on October 21, 1961 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1999. Jeanne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton where she taught Sunday School. She was a 1958 graduate of Port Clinton High School, a member of Cochran Majorettes, Girl Scout Leader, she was active in the Humane Society, Ottawa County Historical Society, and a member of the Private Industry Council. She was a dispatcher for the Port Clinton Police Department and Ottawa County Sherriff Dept. She was a past Port Clinton Councilwoman and also past president of council. She was elected mayor of Port Clinton for two terms. She was also a partner with her sister in Snoop Shop. Surviving are her son: Scott Huskey of Port Clinton; daughter: Amy (Dale) Bean of Moncks Corner, SC; granddaughter: Ashleigh Huskey of Tipp City, OH; step-grandchildren: Kristy (Justin) Cross of Knoxville, TN, Jonathon (Amanda) Faratta of Norfolk, VA; step-great-grandchildren: Elias Cross, Eveelee Cross and Cali Faratta. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law: Sue Huskey; siblings: Vernon Fillmore, Vera Gulau, Janice Schwartz and infant Roberta Fillmore. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, January 19, 2018 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH 43452 where visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Rev. Dr. James Lehman will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd.
