Jeanette I. Focht

Jeanette I. Focht, 88, of Port Clinton, OH, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Commons of Providence, Sandusky, OH. She was born on December 1, 1921 in Port Clinton, a daughter of Lester & Odessa (Balduf) Everett. A 1939 graduate of Port Clinton High School, Jeanette was also a graduate of the University of Tiffin, where she received a degree in business. On June 20, 1941, Jeanette married Kenneth L. Focht, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1989. She was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, where she served on the church council and was active in the women's circle. Jeanette was a member of the Mother's Club her entire adult life. An avid golfer in her later years, she was a member of the Catawba Island Club and the Women's League at the Islander Golf Club. Jeanette was an accomplished painter and seamstress, but most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Gary (Sidney Smith) Focht and Douglas (Connie) Focht, both of Port Clinton, her daughter, Janet (Neil) Bair, Upper Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Focht, Chris (Nova) Focht, Jason (Jen) Focht, Mathew (Karen) Focht, Alicia Focht, Ryan Bair, and Nate Bair. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Donald Everett. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, with the Rev. Ted Austin officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or Stein Hospice.
