Jeanette A. Kloetzly, 89, of Lakeside, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ralph and Hattie (Huffman) Buckingham. She married Ross B. Kloetzly on August 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2014. Early in her working career, she worked as a secretary for the Ohio Injector Plant in Wadsworth, Ohio. She then became the secretary for the dean of the pharmacy school at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Together, she and Ross owned and operated the Belle Center Pharmacy in Belle Center, Ohio where she was the proprietor of the Belle Center gift shop. In 1979, Jeanette and Ross moved to Lakeside, Ohio where they owned and managed the Der Markt Platz grocery store for 5 years. Jeanette was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women's Circle. She served as president of the Norwalk District Mission Team for 4 years. She and Ross volunteered their services as mission workers at Red Bird Mission in Kentucky multiple times. Jeanette was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years. Through her leadership, the troop made numerous camping trips, earned many badges, and took a 3 week trip to Europe with an extended stay at the International Girl Scout Chalet in Switzerland. Survivors include her children: Elaine (Paul LaVoy) Kloetzly, Green Valley, Arizona; Christine (Scott) Vermillion, Painesville, Ohio; Tom (Carol) Kloetzly, Macedonia, Ohio; and Mary Ann (Todd) Henley, Marysville, Ohio; grandchildren: Rebecca (Chris) Vermillion Haun, Andrea (Patrick) Chasteen, Bradley (Cara) Kloetzly, Kyle Kloetzly, Macauley Kloetzly; and sister: Sue (Paul) Carson, Apple Valley, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son: Larry. Per Jeanette's wishes, there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jeanette's life memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10am at the Lakeside United Methodist Church, 450 Central Avenue, Lakeside, Ohio with Pastor Vern Shepherd officiating. A light luncheon will be held immediately following services in the church hall. Burial and graveside services will be held at 3:30pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 College Street, Wadsworth, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Bird Mission in care of the Lakeside United Methodist Church.
