Janeane A. (Cover) Cipiti

August 5, 1930 — January 31, 2019

Janeane A. (Cover) Cipiti, 88, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at The Lakes of Monclova Care Center in Maumee, Ohio. She was born on August 5, 1930 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Melvin and Geneva (Zilles) Cover. She married Anthony "Tony" Cipiti on August 1, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 7, 2018. Janeane worked for four different doctors as an office manager, bringing order and accuracy on a magnitude not known before or since. She reluctantly retired in 2003. While she beautified her own yard with trees and flowers, her masterpiece is on display at the Waterworks Park, where she applied a tremendous amount of her time and talents planting and tending flower gardens. She received a civic award from Mayor Wheeler for her efforts. A caring wife, mother and grandma, the many fruits of her knitting (esp. blankets) are providing coziness to family and friends in at least four states. Nobody in her proximity was ever liable to be hungry, as she would cook and bake as though for a restaurant and not a household of two. For many years the arrival of Christmas was accompanied by nut and fruit breads delivered to locales from Toledo to Seattle. She pursued everything from work to sewing, cooking and gardening with great vigor and was not one to sit still for long. Late into the evening she would finally alight with a book (and snack) in bed. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. Survivors include her children, William (Sharon) Cipiti, of Sylvania, Ohio, Linda (Rick) Baechle, of Maumee, Ohio, Nancy Cipiti, of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Nobis, Alison (Curt Hart) Nobis, Derek (Kelly) Cipiti, Ashley (Andrew) Scasny, Ryan (Emily) Baechle, Ross (Rebecca) Baechle; great-grandchildren, Liam Nobis, Kellen Nobis, Griffin Nobis, Grayson Cipiti, River Cipiti, Lucy Baechle, Jack Baechle, Noah Baechle, Zoe Baechle Juliet Baechle; and her sister, Susan (Russ) Leighty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Ralph. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, with Father James Brown officiating.
