Jane R. Michalske

Jane Ruth Michalske (Taylor), 81, Catawba Island, OH was called home to the Lord, Saturday, April 5, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. She was born, July 14, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio and was a mother of six. Jane worked outside the home as an Office Manager and as an Optometrist Assistant. She was the Sunday School Superintendent at Grace Baptist Church, Port Clinton, OH, where she taught and played the organ and piano for 18 years. She was also a member of Cleveland Baptist Church. She married the late David Michalske in 1951, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1999. She is survived by her son, Glen Michalske of St. James, North Carolina; four daughters, Belinda "Bonnie" Zielinski of Brook Park, Ohio, Laura Michalske-Phelps of Batavia, Ohio, Deborah "Debi" Hrutkai of Brunswick, Ohio, and Janie Scalf of Lorain, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome Cook Borden Taylor and Ruth Chivers (James); son Daniel Michalske; two brothers: Gordon and Roland Taylor; and a sister, Helen Gorsch. Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. until services which will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church, 4650 Port Clinton Eastern Road, Port Clinton, OH with Rev. Peter A. Dodd officiating. A bereavement brunch will be served from 9-11 a.m.Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio.
