Jane L. Biers, 93, of Marblehead died June 1, 2012 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. She was born Feb. 23, 1919 the daughter of Laverne and Ethel Mae (Mitten) Scherf. She married Charles Biers on December 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Biers was retired from Danbury Schools in 1984 where she worked in the cafeteria. She was well known for Jane's potato salad and all of her cooking. The love of her life was her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury. Surviving are her sons: William (Bonnie) Biers of Bitely, MI, Robert (Betty) Biers of Marblehead; daughters: Jerrilynn (Roger) Ripley of Columbus, OH, Debra (Thomas) Sandvick of Norwalk, OH; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister: Susie Kirwen of Rising Sun, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles; brother: Laverne "Bud" Scherf; sister: Maribelle Ayers and grandson: Brett Lynn Biers in 1978. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Monday, June 4, 2012 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury where visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Additional visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside--Marblehead, OH. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury or Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
