Jim Roth, 56, of Marblehead, OH, died Tuesday, August 21, 1007 at his home. He was born May 16, 1951 in Sandusky, OH, a son of the late Roger & Geraldine (Manner) Roth. Jim was a Merchant Marine with the Oglebay Norton Company retiring after 30 years of service. He was the former vice president of Steelworkers Local 5000, a member of the VFW Men’s Auxiliary and the Elk’s Lodge 1718 of Port Clinton. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church and the Danbury Food Pantry. Surviving is his wife, the former Elaine Batcha whom he married on June 26, 1971; son, Jamie (Kate) Roth of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Jeanne (Robert) Snowball of Columbus, Jessica (Robert) Landon of Springfield, VA and Julianne (Jason) Lee of Marblehead; grandchildren, Jacob, Nevaeh and Harrison; brother, John (Beth) Roth of Maumee, OH and Nancy (Jim) Shelley of Bellevue, OH. The family will receive friends from 2-9 P.M. Thursday at the Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where Parastas services will be held at 6 P.M. followed by VFW Men’s services at 7 P.M.. Additional visitation will be held from 9 A.M. Friday until the Office of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danbury Food Pantry.
