James N. St. Marie

James N. St. Marie, 85, of Port Clinton, OH died May 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1932 in Marblehead, OH the son of the late Clarence and Lenora (Christiansen) St. Marie. He married Janice L Gates on April 7, 1956 and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2005. Jim was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Japan from 1950 1953. He traveled the world while in the Navy. He was a supervisor for Celotex retiring in 1997. He also worked part time for the Port Clinton Police Department. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718, Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2480, Port Clinton. Jim still held his pilot's license and he enjoyed going to air shows. He enjoyed raising his family and doing crossword and suduko puzzles. Surviving are his son: James C. (Rhonda Fleenor) St. Marie of Port Clinton; daughter: Janet K. (Steven) Schroeder of Bonita Springs, FL; grandson: Bryan (Maegan) Ferres of Columbus; companion Liz Opas of Port Clinton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Clarence "Curly" St. Marie and Donald St. Marie. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 3:00 7:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where prayer services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 12, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Missler and Father Jon Wight 10:30 am Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to The American Cancer Society or Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718.
