James L. "Red" Lipstraw, 86 of Oak Harbor, OH died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, OH. He was born October 20, 1931 in Graytown, OH to the late Richard and Hilda (Robenalt) Lipstraw. He attended Salem Oak Harbor High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On June 15, 1957 he married the former Judy Schultz, who preceded him in death January 12, 2014. Jim retired from George Gradel Inc. as an operations engineer for over 40 years. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, OH. Red enjoyed restoring tractors, especially John Deere. He was also involved with the beginning of S.C.R.A.P.. Survivors include his sons: Jeff Lipstraw of Columbus, OH, Michael (Barb) Lipstraw of Sandusky, OH, and Randall G. Lipstraw of Port Clinton, OH; grandchildren: Kevin, Kimberlee, and Emily Lipstraw; brother Richard "Diz" (Shirley) Lipstraw Jr of Oak Harbor; sister Helen (Andy) Nowak of Graytown; sister- in- law Carolyn Lipstraw of Lindsey, OH; brother- in- laws Charles (Karen) Schultz and Roger (Janet) Schultz. He was also preceded in death by his brother Arlyn Lipstraw and daughter- in- law Tina. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-6pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor where services will follow at 6pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at a later date at Limestone Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Parkinsons Research, Stein Hospice, or Ohio Veterans Home.
