James Kiser

June 19, 1947 — February 4, 2012

James Kiser, 64, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. He was born June 19, 1947 in Fremont, Ohio, the son of Gerald & Margaret (Phillips) Kiser. James was a 1965 graduate of Lakota High School in Kansas, Ohio. He worked 7 years for John Deere at Waterloo, IA from 1977 to 1984, and from 1985 to present he worked 27 years as a Charter Captain and Co-Owner of JPB Lures Manufacturing. He was a member of Scott Trinity United Methodist Church and the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association. On Feb. 19, 1972, he married the former Linda Distel, and she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Jamie (Jeff) Kennedy of Catawba Island; 2 grandsons, Jackson and Jayce Kennedy; and three sisters, Judy Kiser (Jim Carpenter) of Findlay, Ohio, Cara Black of Bradner, Ohio and Shirley Kiser of Risingsun, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Margaret Kiser and his grandparents, Joseph and Harriet Kiser and Wayne and Helen Phillips. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio and from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
