James "Jim" Jude Kocour

James "Jim" Jude Kocour, 57, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on April 5, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of James Joseph and Agnes (Mikolay) Kocour. Jim was mechanically inclined and worked as a small engine repairman. He also loved to cook which led him to work at several local restaurants. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. He had a huge sense of humor and wit, and would often be seen catching people off guard and making them laugh. He was also highly organized and inventive, traits that most people would be jealous of. Jim was an animal lover, especially with his cat "Scout", whom he enjoyed spending time with. Most importantly, he loved his family and cherished the times he spent with them. Survivors include his daughter: Jamie (fiance', Jason Lunsford) Kocour, Durham, North Carolina; mother: Agnes Kocour, Catawba Island; sisters: Jeanne Uehlein, Fostoria, Ohio; Gail (Paul) Prachniak, Lincoln, Rhode Island; Diane (Alan) Krowka, West Springfield, Massachusetts; Marie (Dale) Metcalfe, Mansfield, Ohio; Rosalind (Philip) Gase, Tiffin, Ohio; thirteen nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and his feline friend: "Scout". He was preceded in death by his father. Per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, on Monday, February 17, 2014 from10am until a memorial service at 11am with Father Raymond Ensman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Catawba Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
