James L. Herman, 77, of Port Clinton died unexpectently July 18, 2011 in Danbury Township. He was born September 2, 1933 in Toledo, OH the son of Max and Thelma (Hasel) Herman. He married Phyllis (Dukes) on March 3, 1987 and she survives. Mr. Herman was a United States Army veteran. He was a marina manager and a cabinet maker and fine wood worker. He loved good music especially jazz and he enjoyed boating and fishing. Surviving are his wife: Phyllis; son: Nathaniel (Sheila) Herman of Naples, FL; daughter: Carrie Herman of Akron, OH; step-sons: Steven (Renee) Gardner of Shelbyville, IN, Patrick (Mona) Gardner of Gahanna, OH; step-daughter: Julie (Bob) Pfefferle of Matthews, NC; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Tom) Moore, Adam (Lisa) Pfefferle, Lauren Pfefferle, Stephanie Gardner, Madison Gardner, Heather Herman, Max Herman, Allyson Herman, Jimmy Herman, Samantha Gibson, Whitney (Roy) Hanna, Jessica Epley; four great-grandchildren; brother: Jerry (Barb) Herman of Woodville, OH and sister: Joanne Busdeker of Genoa, OH. He was preceded in death by his son: John Herman, Brothers: Jack and Jay Herman. Private family memorial services were held. Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH is handling the services. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
