James Edgar Beckhusen

JAMES “JIM” E. BECKHUSEN, 73 of Oak Harbor, OH died unexpectedly Friday, December 1 2023 at his home. Jim was born April 5, 1950 in Toledo, OH to Harry and Ruth (Goachee) Beckhusen. He was a 1968 graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School, Toledo, OH and later received his certification to become a Certified Welding Inspector. He worked for Glasstech in Toledo throughout the 80’s and 90’s, and retired from Northern Manufacturing, Oak Harbor in 2010. Jim was a past member of Toledo Ft. Industry Lodge #144 F. & A.M.

Throughout his life, Jim was an avid fisherman, enjoying annual trips to Little Current, Ontario, Canada with his parents. His mother frequently “outfished” him which put a smile on his face. While in Ohio, he and his dad spent hours on Lake Erie and other local fishing holes.

Jim’s other favorite pastime was woodworking at which he excelled making many gifts for his sister and friends. His attention to detail was evident in everything he made. He was a special friend of Bill W. for the past 35 years.

Jim is survived by his son Jamie (Sarah Campbell) of Elmore, OH, sister Barbara, grandchildren James, Jordyn, Josh (Makaila), great-grandchildren Keidyn, Barret, Peyton, and two more on the way, nephews Mark and Connor (Annie) and niece Mary (Tom). He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel, where family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m. until the time of service.
