James E. "Jim" Bennett, Sr. 79, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born September 17, 1933 in Strongstown, PA the son of A. Smith and Eithle (Stephens) Bennett. He married Carol Fitz and he later married Anne Coss who preceded him in death. He was a retiree of Ford Motor Company. He was a member of First Christian Church, Sandusky and the United States Power Squadron, Port Clinton where he was a past-commander. He was a social member of the American Legion, Sandusky and he enjoyed boating and hunting Surviving are his son: James E. (Karen) Bennett, Jr. of Marblehead, OH; brother: Sam (Barb) Bennett of Barberton, OH; grandchildren: Mandy (Todd) Hilditch and Cody Lenthe. United Stated Power Squadron Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 4:00 pm followed by visitation until 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH. Funeral services and burial will be conducted in Indiana, PA this weekend. Memorial contributions may be given to First Christian Church, Sanduky.
