JAMES E. BISHOP James E. Bishop, 92, died peacefully in his Ohio home and entered into his eternal salvation on August 9, 2014. Resident of The Villages, FL. Summered in Marblehead, OH. Born October 18, 1921, in Toledo, OH, to Carl and Marie Bishop. Devoted and loving husband to Lucille for 32 years, until her passing in 1989. Loving father of: Tim (Sue), Jacqui Bishop Klee (John), Judy McNiece (Jeff), Bill (Janice), Bob (Linda Meacci), Brian (Pamela Franklin). Proud grandfather of: Zachary, Emily, Nicola, Harrison, Warren, Marina, Andy, Jacob, Carly, Danielle, Patrick, Nicholas, Anderson and Lexie. Brother of late Paul (June), late Margaret Gwynne (Baldwin), Betty Lagger (Edward), and Tom (Beverly). Devoted brother-in-law of Mary Ann Rada. Uncle and great uncle too many. Jim graduated from Toledo Central Catholic High School, class of 1939, where he was a member of Alpha Epsilon Tau Key fraternity. He served honorably during World War II in General Patton's 3rd Army, 579th Signal Corps. He had a long and productive career in sales as a "steel peddler" for U.S. Steel and Universal Cyclops until his retirement in 1990. Along the way, he brought joy and enriched the lives of all he touched. Jim was an active parishioner, volunteer and lector at St. Timothy (The Villages), St. Joseph (Marblehead) and St. Bridget (Parma, OH), where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society. An avid golfer and boater, he was well known for his witty "Jim-isms," and he enjoyed serving as host and patriarch of the annual Bishop Family Reunion. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Independence Village, Home Instead and Crossroads Hospice for their caring assistance. Friends are invited to visit at Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 2-8pm and on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 9:00 - 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, Ohio on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 10:00am; luncheon following. Graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brookpark, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
