James E. "Jim" Bahnsen, 66, of Toledo, OH died unexpectedly Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home. He was born July 8, 1950 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Carl and Betty (DeMars) Bahnsen. He was a 1970 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School. Jim worked for the old White House Truck Stop, owned and operated "Jim's Wrecking Service" both in Genoa, OH but, most recently he had been working as a bartender at the former "Ripcord" in Toledo. Survivors include his daughter Vickie Strickland of Elmore, OH; sister Debra (Edward Story) Foos of Tiffin, OH; grandchildren Maddion and Ty; ex-wife the former Kathy Barkau. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Walter, Leonard, Robert, Kenneth, and William Bahnsen; and sister Bonnie Bahnsen. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 11am until the time of service. Burial will be in Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
