James C. Case

James C. Case, 76, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton, Ohio. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Melvin and Agnes (Neverauskas) Case. He was married to Deanne Case, the mother of his two sons, and she preceded him in death in 1996. He then married Patricia Lemire on January 2, 1997 and she survives. James graduated from Kiser High School in Dayton, Ohio, then went to work for the Merchant Marines, loading car ferries out of Ludington, Michigan. He then went to work for Bombright Distributing in Dayton, and then spent the next 29 years working for Columbus Distributing, retiring in 1999. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being out on his boat on Lake Erie. Survivors include his wife: Patricia; sons: Jim (Lynnea) Case, Jr., Indiana; Phil Case (Kelli), Columbus, OH; stepdaughters: Lisa (Kurt) Joseph, Marathon, FL; Laurie Schneider, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Shana (Craig) Prentiss, Kansas City, MO; step sons: Rob (Mary) Schneider, Alanson, MI; Todd Schneider, Key Largo, FL; 4 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 1 great step grandson; step mother: Laura Case, Florida; half brother: Mark Case, Florida; sister: Janet (Elmer) Prikkel, Tipp City, OH; brother: Melvin (Jo Ann) Case, Canal Winchester, OH; nieces and nephews. Per James wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, OH from 10:30 am until a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am, with Father Daniel J. Ring officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington, Michigan.
