Jacqueline "Jackie" Hopfinger

August 1, 1932 — October 19, 2014

Jacqueline "Jackie" Hopfinger, 82, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1932 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Smith) Winnie. On December 4, 1954 she married Jack M. Hopfinger and he survives. Jackie worked at Lakeshore Dairy and then as secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Clinton until her children were born. She was also an antique dealer for over 30 years She was a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church; member of the Ohio Star Quilters Guild and Monday morning quilters group at the library. She was a member of various service organizations including: Port Clinton Elks Ladies; Women of the Moose in Port Clinton; Port Clinton VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Sandusky. Her hobbies included traveling in the motor home since 1976; quilting-loved to appliqu, reading, camping, loved antiques, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and most importantly, spending time with her children and husband. Survivors include her husband: Jack; loving son: John Hopfinger, Columbus, Ohio; loving daughter: Jane Hopfinger (Jim Koska), Nelsonville, Ohio; sister: Sharon (Jack) Rex, Venice, Florida; sister-in-law: Lois Diedrich, Alpena, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, where members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct services at 7pm, and members of the women of the Moose will conduct services at 7:30pm. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 10am until funeral services at 11am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton, with Pastor Bruce Batchelor- Glader officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Ida Rupp Public Library in Port Clinton.
