Jacqueline Fay (Jackie) Winters Mulligan, 90, passed into eternal life on 11/15/2019 in Fremont, Ohio. She was born on a farm in Carroll Township, Ottawa County, Ohio on January 15, 1929 to Zoda Sophrona (nee: Humphrey) and Silverton Ray Winters. Older siblings, who all preceded her in death were: Leola Winters Edwards, Zet Winters, Ray Winters, Mary Rejoice (Joyce) Winters Schroeder, and Donna Lou Winters Thorbahn. A sister, Margorie Winters, died in infancy. Growing up during the Great Depression was hard, but Jackie enjoyed having a close knit family and friends nearby. She was a student at the Pioneer one room schoolhouse in Carroll Township for 4 years, completing grades 5 through 8. While still in high school, Jackie met the love of her life, Edward Wayne (Jack) Mulligan at a local dance. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1946, Jackie worked at Standard Products, Toledo Scale, as a stenographer and secretary for the law firm of Rosentreter and Wargowsky, and Mulligan Electric. Jack and Jackie were married on September 3, 1949, at St Mary's Church in Monroe, Michigan. Their family grew to four children: Mark (Susan) Mulligan of Elmore, Ohio; Jan Mulligan (Charles) Avery of Raleigh, North Carolina; Michael (Anne) Mulligan of Fremont, Ohio; and Kelly (Andrea) Mulligan of Aurora, Ohio. Jackie's life was centered around her family, her beloved "Stone House", and St Boniface Catholic Church. She was a member and past president of the Epsilon-Eta Chapter of the Sigma Alpha national philanthropic sorority, a volunteer for the American Heart Association and Meals on Wheels, a member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club, and a member of the Elks Lodge in Port Clinton, Ohio. Jackie enjoyed an active life of entertaining family and friends, boating on Lake Erie, snow skiing, travel, and round and square dancing. She was talented in sewing and needlepoint. Jack and Jackie were constant, loving companions. Their marriage spanned 56 years, until Jack's death on August 17, 2005. The end of Jackie's life was filled with the challenges of Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
