Jack R. Koras

Jack R. Koras, 98, Marblehead, OH and formerly Deerfield, OH passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, North Canton, OH. He was born February 3, 1926 in Akron, OH the son of John and Edith (Deming) Koras. He married Mary Ellen Vaughn on March 8, 1974 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2015. John retired in 1988 as a heavy equipment operator out of Local 66 in Pittsburg working on road construction. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH, Life Member of Stanley J. Jadwisiak VFW Post 7572, Marblehead, OH and a Life Member of Deerfield American Legion Post 713.

Surviving are his daughters: Kathleen (Tim) Litz of Croatia, Theresa Gribble of Chagrin Falls, OH; step-daughter: Catherine Boggs of Sun City Center, FL; step-sons: James Derry of Novato, CA, Frank Derry of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Joe Szybka 10:30 am Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH. Visitation will be held in the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the mass. Interment with Military Honors by Deerfield VFW Post 9571 will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Deerfield Township Cemetery, Deerfield, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH is handling the arrangements.
