Jack C. Tibbels

Jack C. Tibbels, 76, of Marblehead, OH died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born Oct. 4, 1937 in Toledo, OH the son of Clifford and Lois (Hill) Tibbels. He married Kay Baum on April 26, 1963 and she survives. Mr. Tibbels was a graduate of Danbury High School and Miami University of Ohio where he excelled playing football. He also played semi-pro football for the Toledo Tornadoes. He was the owner/operator of Tibbels Marina & Charter Service in Marblehead, OH. He was also an iron worker for Local 55 of Toledo. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Danbury and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his wife: Kay; sons: Guy C. (Rosemary) Tibbels of Marblehead, John (Andrea) Tibbels of Marblehead; daughter: Jackie (James) Grosswiler of Marblehead; grandchildren: Tug Tibbels, Annie Tibbels, Justin Tibbels, Will Tibbels, Devon Grosswiler; brother-in-law: Robert Mannisto of Manhattan, MT; sister-in-law: Carolyn (Carl) Schweibert of Holland, MI; cousins: Pat (Judy) Hill of Auburn Hills, MI, Nance Gardner of Pompano Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt and uncle: Elizabeth and Guy Tibbels and sister: Jill Mannisto. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
