Jack A. Stein

Jack A. Stein, 91 of Oak Harbor, OH died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born November 1, 1924 in Norwalk, OH to the late Carl and Helen (Brutsche) Stein. On August 18, 1951 he married the former Virginia Eastman who preceded him in death July 18, 2006. Jack served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania during WW II. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Rivers of Living Water in Fremont, OH. Jack held a 32nd degree Mason for the Oak Harbor Lodge #495 F. memberships in both the V.F.W. Post #8732 and American Legion Post #114 of Oak Harbor and a lifetime membership in the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his children: John (Dee) Stein of Farmersville, TX, Jackie (David) Higbie of Lakeview, AR, Jeannie (Howard) Leftwich of Karnak, TX, Josh (Rinda) Stein of Gainesville, TX, Jim (Maggie) Stein of Norwalk, OH, and Jolene (Mark) St. Clair of Port Clinton, OH; 13 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; and 1 great- great- grandchild; and sister Jean of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Cora Jane. The family encourages the community, friends, and family to visit with them Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the American Legion Post #114, 221 Park St., Oak Harbor, OH between 2 5pm. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Norwalk, OH at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
