Ivan L. Dowdle

Ivan L. Dowdle, 88, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born September 11, 1935 in Uhrichsville, OH the son of Isaac and Tresa (Koons) Dowdle. Ivan worked for Chrysler at the Toledo Machine Plant for 32 years, retiring in 1988. He was previously a member of Port Clinton Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed boating, camping, traveling and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Alice Jean (Howard); daughters: Yvonne Dowdle of Fort Lupton, CO, Diana (Gregg) Johnson of Oak Harbor, OH, Stephanie (Daniel) Whipple of Galesburg, MI; grandchildren: Amanda Johnson, Cortney (Jason) White, Kristen (Tyler) Hess, Zackary Whipple, Sadie (Troy) Nelson; great-grandchildren: Killian Printy, Kennedy White, Jackson White, Ella White, David Nelson, Scarlett Nelson, Elliott Nelson; sister: Nancy Wingard of Mamouth, AZ; brothers: Gary Dowdle, Ronald Dowdle, Wayne (Joyce) Dowdle all of Jewett, OH; sister-in-law: Nancy Dowdle of Adena, OH. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jeffrey, Dave, and Lawrence and sister: Marjorie Wrisk. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, February 1, 2024 in the funeral home with Pastor Joe Henderson officiating. Entombment will be at Meadow Green Cemetery, Huron, OH.
