Itha Margaret (Higley) Twining, Age 91, of Sunbury, Ohio died April 13, 2021 at The Inn at Walnut Trail. She was born in Elkhart, Indiana on December 19, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Higley. They moved to Danbury Township, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio in 1937 where she met the love of her life, Donald Arthur Twining. They were married in 1948 at Faith United Methodist Church in Port Clinton, Ohio and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his death in 2007. Her joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Bill) Zieber, her son, Dean (Jean) Twining, her grandson, Aaron (Sara) Zieber her granddaughter, Denise (Justin) Leach and great-grandchildren, David Zieber, Allison Zieber, Jacob Leach, Jacquelyn Leach, and Jace Leach. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, her sister Jean (Walt) Jess, her sister Alice (Mike) Leiser, her brother Leroy Higley and her brother Russell Higley. Margaret and Don cherished their family and friends on the Marblehead Peninsula and enjoyed the many years that they lived there raising their children and being a part of this wonderful community. They loved playing golf and traveling. After Don’s retirement, they moved to their happy place (Lake Wales, Florida) where they enjoyed the year-round sun and warmth, made many new friends and played lots of golf. Memorial services will be conducted 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH 43440 where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment for both Itha and Don will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., Suite 170, Columbus, OH 43231.
