Irvin E. "Butch" Hatfield

Irvin E. “Butch” Hatfield, 61 of Oak Harbor, OH died unexpectedly Friday, July 28, 2023 at his home. He was born July 30, 1961 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Irvin E. Sr. & Patricia (Worcester) Hatfield. Irvin retired January 1, 2021 as a laborer for Local #480 in Sandusky, OH. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and riding his motorcycle. He held memberships in the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. Butch was know for his Hog Roasts and loved doing them.


Survivors include his children: Jonathon (Gillian Allen) Hatfield and Amanda (David Olmstead) Hatfield; sisters: Julie (David) Mulligan, Cathy (Steve) Dunn, Lori Hartshorn, JoAnn Sparks Anderson; brother Kevin Hatfield; ex-wife Pam Hatfield; Goddaughter Casey Madison and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces & nephews. He was also preceded in death by his partner in life Amy Carter Heggie and brother-in-law Bryan Hartshorn.


A Celebration of Irvin’s Life will take place on August 26, 2023 at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds Banquet Hall from noon - 5pm. Those wishing to make a contribution in his name are asked to consider Wounded Warrior Project (or any other Veteran based charity) or American Lung Association.
