Irene M. Wiechel

Irene M. Wiechel, 96, of Port Clinton, OH died June 18, 2018 in Columbus, OH. She was born March 26, 1922 in Marblehead, OH the daughter of George and Mary (Chagin) Hudak, Sr. Mrs. Wiechel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society and the Cemetery Committee. She also volunteered at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, OH. Prior to her retirement she worked in the Ottawa County Clerk of Courts Office. Surviving are her daughter: Jane (Russ Wahlers) Wiechel of Columbus; grandchildren: Ciara Wiechel, Libby Wiechel both of Nebraska; great-grandchild: Camdyn Medsker. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard R. Wiechel; daughter: Carolyn Wiechel; brothers: George Hudak, Jr., Ray Hudak; sister: Lillian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father James Brown 10:30 am Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Marblehead, OH where visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the mass at 10:30. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH.
