Irene Cupp

Irene Cupp, 85, of Delta, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Heartland of Wauseon, Wauseon, Ohio. She was born on June 10, 1922, in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late John & Margaret (Molnar) Struhar. On July 17, 1943, she married Robert L. Cupp and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1980. Irene began her working career at the Erie Army Depot, Port Clinton, and then finished her career as the County Registrar at the Ottawa County Health Department, retiring in 1994. She was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Port Clinton, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Port Clinton . Her hobbies included trap shooting at the Oak Harbor Conservation Club, playing cards, and she was an avid animal lover. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Charles) Casey, Oak Harbor, OH and Peggy (Patrick) Gdovicak, Greenwich, OH; son, Robb (Kim) Cupp, Delta, OH; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, John Struhar, Jr., and an infant sister, Emily. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 27, from 11:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M. at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Mitch Maxted officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
