Hilda H. Simpkins

Hilda H. Simpkins, 81, of Oak Harbor, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2008 in Oak Harbor following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 20, 1926 to the late Nick and Anna Isaac in New Kensington, PA. On April 8, 1946, she married William Simpkins who preceded her in death September 1, 1996. Hilda worked at the Toussaint Tavern in Carroll Township for many years from which she retired. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge where she was active in Dorkus Bible Study. She was also a member of the Port Clinton Moose and VFW Auxiliaries. Hilda enjoyed participating at the Oak Harbor Senior Center reading in her spare time, as well as playing cards and crocheting. Survivors include her sons: Larry (Linda) Simpkins of Marion, Indiana, Dr. James "Bill" (Janet) Simpkins of Fort Worth, Texas, Rick Simpkins of Naples, Florida, Bob Simpkins of Oak Harbor, daughters: Sandy Baumgartner, Judy (Fred) Jensen both of Oak Harbor, brother Ernest (Janet) Isaac of Port Clinton, 17 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Hilda was also preceded in death by her brothers: Moses, Joe, Mike, and George Isaac, and her sister Martha Bartel. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with the Rev. Keith Baker Officiating. Burial will be in Rushau Cemetery, Carroll Township.
