Henry M. "Hank" Willson

Henry M. "Hank" Willson, 91, of Port Clinton, OH died August 3, 2017 at Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH. He was born March 14, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Richard Bennett and Charlotte Harriet (Mencken) Willson. He married Mary C. Cullen on October 22, 1948 and she survives. Mr. Willson served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and then served in the Army in Korea. He was an Insurance Professional retiring in 1985 from Prudential Financial. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; a very active member of American Legion Post 113, and a Charter Member of Toast Masters Club in Norwalk. Hank enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, woodworking, boating, fishing and golfing. In 2012 Mr. Willson participated in Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Mary; children: Mary Ann (Alan) Basinger of Bucyrus, Henry M. "Will" (Shari) Willson, Jr of Pioneer, OH, Dr. Catherine J. (Norman) Hill of Georgia, Susan L. (Ken) Franklin of Georgia Thomas J. (Poh) Willson of Westerville, OH; grandchildren: Melissa, Alicia, Christopher, Amber, Jonathan, Brooke, Robin, Jeffry, Adam, Casey, Andy, Leah, Brittany, Tommy, Grace and Bennett; 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Charlotte Schuerger, Richard Bennett Willson, Jr, James MacAdam Willson and John J. Willson. Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 from 4:00 7:00pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment services with Military Honors given by American Legion Post 113 will be in Riverview Cemetery.
