Henry A. Christiansen

Henry Auger Christiansen, 96, of Port Clinton passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2014 at Otterbein Northshore Retirement Village, Lakeside, OH. He was born on July 6, 1917 to John and Meta (Hansen) Christiansen and lived in Port Clinton most of his life. He married Marian Fillinger on June 28, 1941 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1965. He later married Donna (Qualman) Windnagel on Aug. 30, 1969. Mr. Christiansen was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II in the South Pacific. He spent most of his working years at Erie Army Depot and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church. He loved the lake, boating and fishing. In his retirement years Hank enjoyed a good game of golf and spent countless hours creating furniture and other items in his woodworking shop. He was a family man who shared a legacy of love and Christian living with his entire family. Surviving are his wife: Donna; children: Bonnie (Mel) Rittner of Alliance, OH, John (JoAnn) Christiansen of Reynoldsburg, OH Nancy (Rob) Twynham of Powell, OH; step-children: Richard (Joanie) of Chardon, Jane (Nate) Lampe of Cincinnati, OH; John (Felicia) Windnagel of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: John (Mindy) Rittner, James (Charlotte) Rittner, Vonnie (John) Kochensparger, Jacob (Bree) Twynham, Benjamin (Rebekka) Twynham, Ellen (Ryan) Rampton, Carey (Keith) Puruczky, Amy (Jason) Hess, Ronald (Jennifer) Windnagel, Daniel (Kellie) Windnagel, Drew (Lis) Lampe, James (Jenny) Lampe; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Marian; brother: Wilbur Ahrens and sister: Irene White. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH with Rev. Ralph Schibler officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
