Helen M. Smith

Helen M. Smith, 93, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born in Port Clinton, OH on December 11, 1924, the daughter of Edward G. & Johanna (Pauls) Lieske. Helen was the Executive Vice President of the former Oak Harbor State Bank Company for 26 years, and retired June 1, 1984 from the former Toledo Trust. A long time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, Helen was also a member of Moose Lodge #1610 in Port Clinton and was a former member of the Riverview Nursing Home Auxiliary. She assisted her husband on the family farm and enjoyed vegetable gardening. On August 12, 1943, Helen married Glenn H Smith, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1993. Surviving are her children, Shirley J. Beck, Oak Harbor; and Thomas A. (Terri) Smith, Northfield Center, OH; grandchildren, Douglas A. (Bobbi) Beck, Wendy K. (Randy)Wilburn, Scott A. (Andrea) Beck, Matthew (Becky) Smith, and Adam Smith; great-grandchildren, Kyle (Jeanna) Beck, Drew (Brittany) Wilburn, Kaylee Wilburn, Annika Beck, Ryan M. Smith, Mason Smith, and Parker Smith; and great-great grandchildren, Blaire and Josephine Beck. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Raymond, and Luther "Pooch" Lieske: son-in-law, Donald Beck, and grandson, Tracy Beck. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 165 Toussaint St., Oak Harbor, where friends may call after 12:30 P.M. Monday. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
