Helen M. Foss

Helen M. (Brough) Foss, 96, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born in Carroll Township, Ottawa County on December 25, 1913, a daughter of Fred & Nina (Yeisley) Kroeger. Helen was a retired employee of the former Standard Products Company, Port Clinton, where she had worked for many years. A member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Helen was also a member of the Grange for over 50 years. She was an excellent cook and loved to dance. Helen greatly enjoyed tending her gardens where she grew vegetables and flowers. She was the widow of Emery Brough, who preceded her on August 28, 1977, and Fred Foss, who preceded her on July 3, 1997. Helen was also preceded by her parents, her daughter, Marge Rumball; brother Frederick Kroeger; and sisters, Mary Immel and Ethel Brough. She is survived by her son-in-law, Gilbert Rumball, Fremont, Ohio; grandchildren, Cheryl (Tracy) Troxel, Fremont, Ohio and Eric (Cynthia) Rumball, Port Clinton, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Meredith Troxel, and Carter and Tytan Rumball; sister, Evelyn Farrow, Port Clinton; and sister-in-law, Lois Kroeger, Oak Harbor. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Pastor Lowell Peters will officiate, and interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverview Auxiliary or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
